Position Summary:

This is a Steamfitter-Journey position with the Facilities Planning and Management Division, Physical Plant, Steamfitter Shop.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Must have successfully completed an approved apprenticeship in the Steamfitter craft; or, must be recognized by an appropriate authority (e.g., labor union, trade organization, etc.); or, have performed at least 8,000 hours in the work processes and can provide verification if required to do so.

Additional Information:

- Knowledge of all methods, procedures, practices, tools, and instruments used in the Steamfitter trade.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the Steamfitter trade including lockout/tagout.
- Knowledge of current steamfitter piping codes.
- Skill in oral, written, and interpersonal communications.
- Ability to maintain a professional and service oriented relationship with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds multiple times daily.
- Ability to be creative, flexible, self-motivated, and quality oriented.
- Ability to do necessary bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and twisting associated with the Steamfitter trade.
- Ability to work hours in excess of the normal work shift, including overtime, nights, holidays and weekends.
- Ability to present a neat, clean appearance at all times.
