School of Nursing and Health Studies (SNHS) at UW Bothell has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (50%) Student Recruiting Manager who will lead prospective student outreach and recruitment efforts for SNHS. This position requires relationship building in the regional healthcare community and facilitation in matching prospective student interests with appropriate educational options within our tri-campus University system.

This position works with the SNHS Academic Services Team, UWB Division of Enrollment Management (DEM), and the UW Seattle and UW Tacoma Schools of Nursing to develop and implement strategies for communicating with prospective students in a variety of settings. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in supporting all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, ability, socioeconomic status, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion, country of origin or citizenship status. This position is designed to assist SNHS in meeting its enrollment goals and increasing its visibility to prospective students who are considering Master of Nursing, Master of Health Studies (due to launch Autumn 2023) and SNHS Bachelor's degree programs.

This position works collaboratively with academic advisers, School leadership, and advisory boards to gain a deep understanding of our program and execute outreach activities and advise prospective students. This position requires strong people skills and a desire to meet students and community members where they are with the goal of being a welcoming and informed representative of SNHS. The person in this position must be able to communicate effectively to individuals with widely varying educational backgrounds, socio-economic status, age, nationalities, and language proficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and coordinate recruitment efforts for all School of Nursing & Health Studies programs:

• In collaboration with University and School partners, envision, manage, and coordinate recruitment efforts for all SNHS programs at community events, hospitals, continuing education conferences, national conferences, and community festivals. Devise monthly, quarterly and yearly calendar to coordinate and cover representation of programs at all recruiting events. Develop, maintain, and coordinate tracking systems for follow-up with potential applicants/students.
• Determine appropriate presenters for events including self, SNHS faculty, academic services team, and/or DEM. Prepare enrollment and marketing presentations to School, Dean, and leadership team. Track leads depending on the focus of the event. Develop and implement timely communications to prospective students who have expressed interest in SNHS degrees & programs.
• In coordination with all 3 campuses, represent SNHS academic programs at student recruitment events. Provide ongoing contact with health care agencies and other targeted and diverse populations.
• Ensure responses to correspondence, e-mail, web, and phone requests from prospective applicants. Provide information and answer questions about any of the School's degree programs.
• Serve as a contact for prospective students and counsel them via email or in scheduled advising appointments and information sessions administered by phone, video conference, or in-person as circumstances permit. Refer to SNHS Advisors, DEM Advisors, and/or faculty as needed.
• Maintain a database of leads and cultivate relationships with prospective students, track students through recruitment processes, and generate data that supports marketing and outreach efforts. Build reciprocal relationships with regional healthcare leaders, health care agencies, tribal councils, nursing & public/global/community health courses, accrediting and regulatory bodies and other venues.
• Interpret UW admission policies and requirements and make recommendations to prospective students.
• Collaborate with SNHS advisers and liaisons in the UWB Division of Enrollment Management to facilitate admission processes.
• Develop relationships with, and act as a resource for, student service colleagues across campus and at other educational institutions in Washington State.
• Promote the SNHS programs to students and advisers across the region via email, social media, and print media.
• Direct the development of marketing and outreach materials in partnership with SNHS Academic Services Team & UWB DEM.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree, and at least 3 years of professional experience recruiting, advising, and/or supporting diverse student populations including experience in marketing, or outreach in an educational setting.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with the public, students, faculty, and community members including those from various cultural and socio-economic groups.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to student records, information systems, admissions, and registration.
• Presentation and advising skills that demonstrate commitment to best methods including use of technology.
• Dependable, accurate, have attention to detail, be a good team member, and a positive attitude.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience with community organizations, alumni relations, Advancement.
• Knowledge and experience of the pre-admission and admissions processes.
• Demonstrated experience administering and using online databases for tracking prospective students.
• Registered Nurse with current licensure.
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
• Previous Recruiting experience in a health-related or educational setting environment.
• Experience with graduate and first-generation students.

Conditions of employment:
• This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events connected to the programs and school.
• This position will work at 50% FTE.
