Job Summary

The Director of Accounting Services and Grants is responsible for the supervision and leadership of the Accounting Services, Grants Accounting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable departments of the College.

In addition to supervision and leadership of staff, job duties include preparation and review of general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations, coordination of monthly and year-end financial reporting, implementation of effective systems of internal controls, and completion of the annual financial statement audit and Single Audit. The Director also assists with the College’s banking and treasury management functions.

The Director should ensure that staff utilize College information systems effectively to provide a high level of service to the campus community. The Director must also develop and maintain a high level of expertise in College policies and procedures as well as applicable federal and state regulations.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director is critical to the financial operations of the College.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting
Five years of experience in public or private industry accounting functions
Supervisory experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision and make independent decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Administration or Accounting
Certified Public Accountant certification

Experience in a Higher Education setting
