Position Function
Perform management duties related to community economic development education, training, consultative, and special project-based duties under the supervision of the Director of Program Development and Training. Provide support in developing, promoting, facilitating, and delivering community economic development services including training and community programs. Identify and cultivate relationships with stakeholders in community economic development, connecting communities with university resources. Assist with Indiana Communities Institute efforts to implement community economic development research, practice, and policy to ensure Ball State remains a leading resource for communities.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
At least five years of experience working with neighborhoods, communities, counties, and/or regions in support of community economic development; experience in community and/or economic development planning and facilitation; experience in community outreach and engagement; experience in project management, including managing timelines, budgets, and key deliverables; experience in presentation design and public speaking.
Minimum Other
Excellent Internet and traditional research skills; demonstrated ability to employ analytical skills including the ability to organize and integrate seemingly unrelated data; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability and willingness to work effectively with limited supervision and exhibit sound independent judgment and decisions; demonstrated knowledge of economic and community development practices and principles; ability to work effectively with divergent groups; excellent interpersonal skills. Must have a valid driver’s license, be insurable under the auto fleet policy, and be willing and able to travel.

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in political science, planning, business, economics, community development, and/or communications from an accredited institution.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with a variety of partners and community groups; experience handling diverse perspectives and differing motivations; experience identifying and effectively communicating messaging and stories to various audiences.
Preferred Other
Established community economic development relationships at the local and/or state level

Develop, design, promote, and implement community economic development initiatives of the Indiana Communities Institute including the ICI Academy, community-specific training programs, and special projects in collaboration with the Director of Program Development and Training.
