Description of the Job
Work effectively with our fixIT team at the on-campus RamTech
computer store to in-process and repair VCU faculty, staff and
student Apple and Dell computers. Provides a high level of customer
service to parents and students regarding computer sales and repair
issues. Process customer ticketing requests as well as Apple, Dell,
Fortegra and Safeware warranty requests as applicable.
Ability to be on time and follow instructions. Be willing to
consult with technicians and management to ensure accuracy and
compliance with fixIT standards.
Educational or working knowledge of common and current PC operating
systems and software application programs, such macOS and Windows
Basic knowledge and interest in computer hardware components and
repair of desktop computing devices.
Strong communication and customer service skills in assisting
faculty, staff and students who need technical assistance including
repairs, diagnostics and installations of PCs, peripherals and
Ability to lift 50 pounds, operate a van and use a hand
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Awareness of safety and security at all times.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty,
staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff
member at VCU .
Information Systems or Computer Science related degree.
Dell Tech Direct and/or Apple Certified Mac Technician ( ACMT )
certifications required upon hire or 6 months of hire.
