Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties:
Teaching, advising, curriculum development, formulation of policies and procedures, evaluation of program effectiveness, administration of program, preparation of accreditation reports, maintaining certification status and maintenance of laboratory. This is a campus-based position.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Discipline / Degree Area:
Associates Degree in Surgical Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Health Sciences or Bachelors Degree in Surgical Technology
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
National Certification (CST) by NBSTA
Required Minimum Work Experience:
Combination of 5 years operating room scrubbing, teaching or perioperative department management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Prior experience with accreditation process and preparation of reports, prior management/leadership experience, knowledge of various Operating Room support departments, must possess a strong sense of surgical conscious, familiar with all surgical specialties, medical terminology and CIS experience.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Master’s degree, college and/or clinical teaching experience, professional development record, curriculum development, experience with accreditation reports and experience with programmatic advisory board.
