The Faculty of Law (FLL) invites applications for the position of Chair/Distinguished/Full Professor in law and artificial intelligence, comparative legal philosophy and Chinese law. The incumbent will contribute to legal research and teaching and demonstrate academic leadership by his/her reputation and contributions to the development of his/her fields. The incumbent will also commit to the future development of the Faculty of Law in line with the University of Macau’s aspirations to be an outstanding, internationally-recognised institution of higher learning.

 

Qualifications

Applicants for the post must hold a PhD degree in Law, have a proven scholarly record, and be fluent in both Chinese and English. They must have teaching experience in an international environment and display strong evidence of research experience in reputed institutions, which shall be substantiated by publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals of national and international standing.

 

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2022.

 

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approximately USD149,420) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Apart from competitive remuneration, UM offers a wide range of benefits, such as medical insurance, provident fund, on campus accommodation/housing allowance and other subsidies.
