Assistant Registrar
Position Category: Staff - Full-Time
Summary:
The Assistant Registrar is a trusted leader and critical member of the Registrar's Office leadership team. They report to the Associate Registrar and represent the Registrar's Office on University committees, task forces, and in other meetings. They foster innovation and strive for efficiencies and process improvement.
The ideal candidate will have: a strong desire for process improvement, proven leadership experience, project management, and team-building experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency with Banner or other student information systems, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and research problems and challenges regarding student registration records.
The Assistant Registrar manages the Registration and Records Department within the Registrar's Office. Duties include:
- Directs, supervises, and trains team members in all aspects of registration and student records processes and coordinates tasks and responsibilities.
- Provides timely feedback, reminders, and correction; mentors team members.
- Establishes and documents clear procedures and protocols.
- Collaborates with Department Chairs and Deans as well as other university representatives on improvement initiatives, policy work, and other projects.
- Utilizes the Banner system and other software to set up and maintain term processing rules, enter student registration information, manage job submissions, and configure a wide variety of other settings and controls.
- Conducts occasional training and workshops for faculty and staff in relation to registration and records processes.
- Works closely with IT partners on system needs, issues, improvements, and development of new tools.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Associate Registrar and University Registrar.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and two years professional experience in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling seven years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Proven track record of increased responsibilities.
- Proven experience in management or coordination of a team and individuals, assessing employee performance, and mentoring direct reports.
- Proven project management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Experience working with complex data.
- Experience learning and using a proprietary system or database.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of university registration and records processes.
-Experience using Banner by Ellucian (as an employee).
-Experience using Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Planner.
-Experience with a reporting software such as Tableau, Argos, Crystal Reports, etc.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform normal office duties. Consistently sitting as with an office environment. Use of fine-hand manipulation associated with the use of a computer.
