Assistant Professor - Tenure Track

Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing

JOB SUMMARY:

The College of Nursing and Public Health at Adelphi University invites qualified candidates to apply for the Clinical or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Teaching across the undergraduate and graduate adult mental health courses including psychiatric nurse practitioner program.
  2. Assist with administrative activities, based on candidate skills.
  3. Actively participate on College of Nursing and Public Health and University committees.
  4. Student advisement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. A Master's degree in nursing and Doctorate in Nursing required (PhD or EdD or DNS or DNP).
  2. A research doctorate is required for the tenure-track position.Licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and national board certification required.
  3. A NYS RN license or eligible for licensure in New York State.
  4. Strong clinical background in mental health nursing.
  5. Experience in simulation technology, online or blended learning, research, and education. Additional experience preferred in our other areas (statistics, research design, education, administration) as well as curriculum development and implementation across all areas.

  7. Academic experiences with culturally diverse populations preferred.
  8. Interest In developing and implementing curricula related to culturally diverse populations.
  9. Experience with a variety of teaching methods.
