Admission Counselor or Assistant Director of Admission

Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Admission Counselor or Assistant Director of Admission.

Reporting to the Director of Admission and Recruitment Operations, this position represents the institution to prospective students and parents, college counselors, and alumnae/i, and recruits secondary school students to Hollins. Primary responsibilities include assisting students throughout the selection, application, admission, financial aid, and enrollment processes. This position facilitates recruitment activities within a specified region, assists conducting outreach to prospective students through various communication methods, and serves in a support role with Hollinsummer, a summer camp run by the Office of Admission.

Successful applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, Microsoft Office proficiency; well-developed communication, presentation, and organizational skills; ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education for women; demonstrated success working with diverse populations; and a commitment to enrolling a diverse student body. Candidates must be self-motivated, and have abilities to work independently and on a team, work effectively with students, work on special projects that support enrollment goals, and to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other campus departments. Applicants must have a valid United States driver’s license with minimal violations and abilities and willingness to travel by ground and air and to work nights and weekends as needed. Experience in girls’ or women’s education is preferred. Final candidates will be subject to criminal history and motor vehicle background checks.
