REPORTS TO: Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Compliance



PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Leads an integrated IT organization that is highly dedicated to delivery of exceptional IT services that support academic and administrative areas.
  2. Authors and develops the College’s master technology strategy. Responsible for the plan’s continued development and maintenance.
  3. Provides College-wide assistance to assess existing information systems and recommends improvements.
  4. Oversees the selection, implementation, and support of new IT and telecommunications systems and infrastructure to accommodate the College’s growing and changing academic and administrative needs.
  5. Ensures a uniform College-wide strategy for equipment, software, operating, and communication systems acquisition protocols in compliance with applicable standards.
  6. Oversees the analysis, design, implementation, installation, and maintenance of a variety of IT applications, hardware, network, operating, and monitoring systems.
  7. Recommends changes to hardware, software, and applications for continuous institutional improvement.
  8. Ensures that backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place to allow the business of the College to continue to function in the event of a disaster.
  9. Responsible for the development, production, and maintenance of application, network and systems documentation and procedure manuals, as well as provide guidance to end user departments in producing and maintaining their own IT process documentation.
  10. Oversees the development and ongoing support of information and network security management, compliance with, and adherence to regulations and related higher education oversight agencies.
  11. Responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of all levels of systems, applications and network access security protocols, procedures and methods to ensure the privacy and integrity of College systems and databases.
  12. Develops, submits, and tracks the IT department’s operating and capital budgets, contracts, and expenses.
  13. Works collaboratively with the College community.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ten years of progressive responsibility of management information systems and business experience
  • Management experience in information technology planning, development and operations
  • Knowledge and experience managing a modern communications (data, voice and video) network
  • Work experience with at least one higher education relational ERP database system; computer operations/server knowledge and/or experience; applications systems design, analysis and programming experience; document management experience
  • Knowledge of higher education administrative systems and academic technology needs
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communicative skills

  • Master’s degree
  • Management information systems and business experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague


SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
