Position Summary:

The incumbent will serve as an administrative assistant in the Department of Surgery in the School of Medicine and Public Health. This position will excel through excellent administrative, organizational, oral and written communication, computer and interpersonal skills to coordinate complex academic, financial, research and administrative activities. This position represents the division to the public as well as personnel and visitors locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. This position requires the ability to understand indepth the department and division policies and procedures related to travel and reimbursement division serve.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

1-3 years experience in an administrative setting supporting staff is required.

Required:
Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
Exceptional administrative and interpersonal skills
Ability to screen and prioritize projects

Preferred:
Experience Managing Calendars
Experience with Travel Arrangements and Travel Reimbursements
Experience working in a Medical Setting
Understanding of Medical Terminology

Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant work experience.

Additional Information:

An ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze, interpret and synthesize information from a variety of sources and clearly present findings verbally and in writing. Ability to work professionally and collaborate in team settings.

This position is being posted at three levels. Level and hourly rate will be determined based on qualifications and previous work experience.
