Position Summary:

Through a partnership between the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the School of Medicine and Public Health, the Center for Biomedical Swine Research & Innovation (CBSRI) is a multidisciplinary center that leverages the translatability of research in pig models and UW-Madison's unique swine and biomedical research infrastructure, resources, and expertise to conduct innovative basic and translational research on human diseases. The central mission of CBSRI is to innovate and accelerate the discovery and development of clinically relevant therapies and technologies. The center will also serve to innovate graduate and medical training by providing a living platform that closely mimics human size, biology, and disease pathology.

The CBSRI is seeking an Administrative Director to partner with the Director and Associate Director to help drive the work of the Center forward through campus and industry partnerships.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree required, with a preference for a biomedical science degree or a business degree and relevant administration experience in a scientific environment.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

- Minimum 10 years of experience performing or coordinating scientific research in an academic, laboratory, center/institute, or corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and develop teams for programs designed to enhance capabilities and meet goals.
- Experience in directing administrative unit(s) dealing with research coordination and project management.
- Experience with developing and implementing business models.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, supervisory, and communication/interpersonal skills required.
- Success in managing activities of a complex interdisciplinary research project.
- Experience in goal-oriented scientific research in the context of a large research lab or matrixed organization.
- Must have budgetary and supervisory experience and a proven ability to develop collaborations and engage with industrial and academic partners.
