As part of UA, the CRM Systems Analyst works in an office that provides the infrastructure for UA, including database management, reporting, gift and biographical records management, and online and technical solutions which help to minimize risk and maximize philanthropic performance. This position reports to the Director, Advancement Information Services.

This position is a part of Strategic Advancement Services and Campaign Administration, which is comprised of five areas: Advancement Information Services (AIS), Gift Processing and Data Management (GPDM), Stewardship and Donor Relations (SDR), UA Operations, and Estate, Trust and Gift Planning (ETGP).

Candidates will be hired into either the CRM Systems Analyst Level I or CRM Systems Analyst Level II role following review of their skills and experience against the qualifications for the positions.

Job Duties categorized by Level 1 or Level 2

LEVEL I
* Business Process/Strategy
- Evaluates and understands business processes in relation to prospect management and data entry.
* Analytics
- Identifies patterns and trends and provides new insights to Advancement.
* Documentation
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of documentation for all assigned BI solutions.
* QA (data quality)
- Develops, maintains, and runs reports and queries to monitor the integrity of data stored in CRM.
* Reporting/Data Request
- Extracts information from systems as requested from business partners within a timely manner.
* System Customization and Functionality
- Creates/maintains reports, outputs, interfaces, and visualizations with SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Blackbaud Constituent Relationship Management (BBCRM) XML artifacts (Smart Queries, Data Forms, Data Lists, ListBuilders, Selections), and other BBCRM related modifications using Visual Studio editor and the BBCRM SDK.
* Page Designer
- Implements effective strategies by configuring and customizing CRM software to meet strategic needs of the Division for University Advancement.
* Requirements Gathering/Spec Creation
- Analyzes business needs by exploring relationships in collections of information and by holding discussions and requirements gathering sessions with other AIS members in order to provide unified Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for stakeholders.
* Dashboarding
- Assists in building and implementing BI solutions that support data integration and processing, and visualizations of metrics critical to Advancement, utilizing Tableau Desktop and Server to develop dynamic, interactive dashboards and visualizations.
Integrations
- Supports CRM add-ons, integrations, and other tools needed to support key strategic initiatives of the division.
* Warehousing
- Assists with maintaining and extending the Blackbaud CRM DataWarehouse via BBCRM SDK and ETL processes.
* Programming
- Write, prepare, optimize SQL statements and queries to support system customizations and data request. Write, prepare, optimize SQL statements and queries to support system customizations and data request.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Level II
Responsibilities include all duties and responsibilities outlined in Level I, as well as the following:
* Vendor relationship
- Assists in communications to vendors for project management
* Survey/External Data
* Dashboarding
- Independently builds and implements BI solutions that support data integration and processing, and visualizations of metrics critical to Advancement, utilizing Tableau Desktop and Server to develop dynamic, interactive dashboards and visualizations.
* Access/Roles
- Monitors CRM operations that pertain to security, maintaining data structure and data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level I
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; OR a bachelor's degree and three years experience building reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel or similar BI product
* Ability to analyze data and business processes and reflect those in both database design and reporting solutions
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and demanding environment
* Proficient in relational database systems, querying, reporting, and analysis tools, and experience with relational database design
* Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
* Understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) software

Level II
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and three years experience building reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel or similar BI product; OR a bachelor's degree and five years experience building reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Excel or similar BI product
* Ability to analyze data and business processes and reflect those in both database design and reporting solutions
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and demanding environment
* Proficient in relational database systems, querying, reporting, and analysis tools, and experience with relational database design
* Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
* Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software
* Effectively managed development cycles for system enhancements and upgrades

Other Requirements:
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support UA's events including blocks of time for major events such as Family Weekend, Reunion Weekend, and Homecoming, and other event support as required. Staff should mark their calendars for major events and events in their department. Exceptions require supervisory approval.

Exempt Employees:
Exempt employees are required to work as much time as is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position without additional compensation, even if the work is performed beyond standard work hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

Level I
* Programming in any additional technologies such as C#, .NET, html, CSS, and javascript
* Experience with Blackbaud CRM

Level II
* Programming in any additional technologies such as C#, .NET, html, CSS, and javascript
* Experience with Blackbaud CRM
* Experience with nonprofit fundraising or higher education information systems
* Experience managing development cycles for system enhancements and upgrades
