These studies involve understanding the impact of uropathogenic e. coli infection on the bladder. Using mouse models, cell culture models, 3D organoid cultures, and human bladder tissues, we take a variety of approaches to understand bacterial pathogenesis in an exciting new program researching the urinary interface. We use transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics approaches to dissect the host responses to infection; role for autophagy, lipophagy, protein trafficking in this process.
