Description

The Sociology and Criminal Justice Department of the College of Arts and Sciences at Suffolk University is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time lecturer(s) opening to teach the following undergraduate courses: Introduction to Sociology, Cultural Diversity.

Typical class sizes are 30 - 35 students. Classes meet two or three times a week depending on the course schedule. The classes are scheduled to meet in person for the Fall 2021 semester. Our lecturers are expected to hold 1 hour of office hours each week during the semester and reply to student emails in a timely manner.

As a student-centered department, we are looking for instructors who bring enthusiasm, compassion, and good organizational skills to the classroom.

Qualifications required:

An earned MA or Ph.D. degree in Sociology or a related teaching area. Also required is the ability to successfully work with a diverse student population and commitment to student learning and outcomes.
