Looking for work on campus this summer? Come and assist with the AUM Coding and 3D Modeling Week organized by Office of Collaborative Partnerships and Department of Computer Sciences. You will get first-hand teaching experience with inclusive pedagogy and practice the cutting-edge computer science techniques to teach high school students. Daily responsibilities: 1) Provide instructions and feedbacks to students during lectures, practice, and discussion. 2) Help students in practice and application of software. 3) Accompany students throughout campus, facilitate conversations during lunch and break periods 4) Assist in any room set-up and tear-down

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Time commitment: – Pre-training: 1 day of mandatory AUM employee training (pref. Thursday 7/8 or Friday 7/9) & half day of mentor training (mentor training will be held by Zoom). – Coding week: Monday – Friday, 7/12 – 7/16, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Post-debriefing: one hour of debriefing, 7/16 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – For questions, please contact Xiaoke Jia, Office of Collaborative Partnerships: Jxiaoke@aum.edu or CollaborativePartnerships@aum.edu

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements: – Undergraduate students – Willing to help students with timely feedback – Willing to work with high school students – Available during week of 7/8-9, 7/12-16 – Familiar with C++ functional programming – Students who have taken CSCI 2000 Functional programming with C++ and received B or above are preferred. – Familiar with Blender 3D software to build 3D object models – Students who have taken CSCI 4970 3D Object Modeling and received B or above are preferred.
