Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring a Budget and Financial Analyst to support the Budget Office. Job Summary

The Budget and Financial Analyst supports the Chief Business Officer at the Prescott Campus in the daily operation of the budget office and with finance and budget functions. Responsible for essential functions within the Prescott budget office including position management and salary savings tracking; coordinate various budget projects throughout the year; ongoing communication and consulting on financial issues with Prescott faculty and staff at all levels within the University; training to assist budget mangers understand fiscal responsibility and use of information systems; regular and ad hoc report generation and analysis; budget preparation and analysis; regular review and processing of budget requests; develop periodic management reports; assist with development of business cases; provide budget forecasts and closing reports; prepare revenue and expense forecasts for annual budgets and quarterly budget status reports showing variances; analyze financial data and develop financial forecasts, plans, processes, recommendations for use by campus governance to aid in decision-making.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for day to day budget office duties including processing appropriate budget transfers, monthly tracking of Prescott campus department operating expense budget to actual, training and assisting budget managers with budget issues, use professional judgement to develop solutions and recommendations as appropriate.

  • Responsible for various monthly, quarterly and annual budget projects including, but not limited to, Sponsored Projects year-end rollover effort, coordinate annual revenue and expense budget, analyze groups of accounts for future year budget estimate. Enter revenue and expense budgets into Oracle Financials system, verify accuracy of budget and adherence to University and Campus allocations.

  • Prepare revenue and expense forecasts for annual budgets and monthly budget status reports showing variances with explanations for use by campus governance, as well as quarterly, annual and other periodic financial reports requested by executive management.

  • Responsible for position management tracking for Prescott campus departments. Maintain employee rosters and complete periodic audits to ensure the budget for approved, funded positions and HR reports are in balance. Update salary budgets for various personnel changes and work with departments to determine funding sources.

  • Track capital campus pools and maintain capital fund budget data records for all capital expenditures and fund balances.

  • Provide support and pertinent input to the Chief Business Officer on general issues related to campus operations, development and growth. Meet quarterly with CBO and Chancellor regarding budget issues and statuses.
