Washburn University's Department of Family and Human Services in Topeka, KS, invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning August 1, 2021. This position is a 9-month full-time, tenure track faculty appointment. Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in a Family and Human Services-related field (human services, psychology, marriage, and family therapy, counseling, etc); ABD applicants will be considered, with completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2022
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Kansas as one of the following: LMAC, LMFT, LMLP, LP, LPC, LMSW (Clinical levels of each of these licenses also meets this requirement)
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary teaching experience


Responsibilities:

  • Teach 12 credit hours per semester or a full workload as defined by the faculty handbook
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate family and human services courses, online and/or face-to-face, as assigned
  • Advise students, maintain office hours in accordance with policy, attend meetings, and engage in service activities in the Department, the School of Applied Services, the profession, and the community
  • Become licensed (as defined above) before tenure and maintain license thereafter
  • Engage in an active, productive research program
