Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The VCU C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a competent Program Coordinator to undertake evaluation and other applied research projects. This position will provide expertise and take a key role in the internal evaluation of the Clinical and Translational Science Award, an NIH funded grant. This position will help in planning and executing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties.

This position will work closely with the Director of Evaluation for the Wright Center and be responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting on qualitative and quantitative data collected via data systems created by the Informatics Core or through surveys, face-to-face, phone or web-based interviews and focus groups with users of the Wright Center services. This position requires a motivated person with highly developed skills in evaluation, research and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The incumbent will also have highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and be able to operate effectively at a national level with a range of individuals and organizations.

Minimum Hiring Standards

•A minimum of 3 years experience as evaluation coordinator or relevant position
•Knowledge of program evaluation methods and research
•Knowledge of research methods, and reporting
•Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office, NVivo, SPSS, R, and UCINet
•Knowledge of business intelligence software such as Tableau
•Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
•Excellent time-management and organizational skills
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
•Detail-oriented and efficient
•MS/MA in social or behavioral sciences, evaluation, or other relevant discipline with a strong research and evaluation component or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Preferred Hiring Standards

Doctoral degree in social or behavioral sciences, evaluation, or other relevant discipline with a strong research and evaluation component
