JOB DESCRIPTION: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in stage management; work collaboratively with the other performance divisions in the Conservatory including opera and dance; mentor MFA and undergraduate stage managers; contribute to the development of classes and coursework in contemporary stage management; serve as one of two production managers for the Conservatory; work as a liaison between the KC Rep and the Theatre Division, as well as other producing partners in Kansas City; contribute to the creative/scholarly, academic and service environments characteristic of a Conservatory within a university; enrich the diverse cultural environment of the Kansas City metropolitan community; participate actively in the intellectual life of the Conservatory and university by serving on committees and engaging in other Conservatory activities; contribute to curriculum development, faculty governance and administrative activity of the Conservatory.
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated successful and innovative experience teaching stage and production management, preferably at the university level; comprehensive knowledge of and experience with stage management of both opera and theatre; demonstrated commitment to student mentorship, including those from underrepresented and underserved communities; strong commitment to both undergraduate and graduate teaching; professional experience as a stage/production manager; MFA in theatre or equivalent professional experience required.
