Position Summary:
Providing advisory assistance for prospective students on application processes and appropriate program selection. Advising current students about academic policies and procedures, assisting with course selection and program navigation. Providing general administrative support for the College of Natural Resources (CNR) Graduate Studies. This position will support growth of CNR graduate programs by maintaining and updating program materials, assisting with recruitment and marketing strategies and implementation.


Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a higher-education student support role.
• Analyzing situations and resources to identify, recommend, implement, and evaluate optimal and efficient solutions.
• Working both independently and in a team environment to accomplish shared goals.
• Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, development of presentations, and data organization.
• Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.


Preferred Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in natural resources or environmental science or a closely related field
• Master’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, education or closely related disciplines

Experience
• Working in a higher-education student support role in natural resources, environmental sciences or closely related
• Working with students enrolled in graduate-level distance education programs in natural resources and/or environmental science
• Using education technology (e.g. Blackboard)
• Working professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
• developing, recommending, and evaluating program procedures and recommending change

Knowledge
• Familiarity with environmental science and natural resource career paths within private industry, state, and federal agencies
