Hiram College invites applicants to apply for the position of Admission Counselor, entry-level, in the Office of Admission.

The Admission Counselor is responsible for enrolling an academically capable and multifaceted freshman class. As such, they must possess superior interpersonal and public speaking skills; writing ability; strong analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills; and organizational talent, including the ability to manage time, prioritize work, and adeptly switch focus on multiple tasks. The ability to work as part of a team and the confidence to work independently is expected. High energy and a strong work ethic are essential; creative initiative, a sense of humor, and the ability to work with diverse individuals and a variety of constituents are valued. Demonstrated success in recruiting and a deep understanding and appreciation of a liberal arts environment are distinct bonuses. Career interest and full-time work experience in admission or related areas are preferred. In addition to general counseling duties, the position requires involvement in and coordination of ongoing admission programs and projects; assignments will depend on the needs of the office and the talents of the individual. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel.

Required: Bachelor's degree and Ohio Driver’s License.
