About the Opportunity:
The Gallaway Lab in the Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The primary research objective is to develop practical solid electrolyte Li-ion batteries. The resulting batteries will have high energy density and low flammability, with a form factor appropriate for the final application. Production of composite electrodes by additive manufacturing is one focus. Subsequent analysis and characterization of the batteries will guide development.

Responsibilities:
Assist in initiating, executing, and completing clinical research and experiments (60%)

Prepare and write research papers, presentations (20%)

Laboratory management (10%)

Train graduate students (10%)

Qualifications:
The applicant should have a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related field. The applicant should be well acquainted with electrochemical systems and battery electrode fabrication. Funding is DOD, and US Citizen or US Person status is required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with solid electrolytes is highly recommended.
Experience in advance materials characterization methods.
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
Ability to write and present effectively.
