Campaign Communications Director

Department Statement

The Office of Communications tells the Colgate story. We strengthen the University’s presence and reputation among external and internal audiences through our strategic direction of the Colgate identity and its core messaging platforms. Our office oversees all official University integrated marketing programs and communications and is responsible for curating and creating content for Colgate Magazine; for digital outlets including the University’s website, mobile apps, and social media; for admission and advancement publications; and media relations campaigns.

Accountabilities

The Campaign Communications Director is focused on the production of campaign communication content across platforms, including print, digital, and web. The Director is responsible for implementing campaign communications strategies in support of Colgate’s Third-Century Plan. The position reports to the Senior Director, Communications and Strategic Initiatives, while working closely with members of the Colgate advancement team.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni relations, communications, project management, marketing, recruitment, public relations, or journalism.

Excellent writing, editing, publication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of digital communications best practices strongly preferred.

Knowledge or experience in higher education advancement or alumni relations preferred.

Experience with Drupal and BBNC preferred but not required.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in liberal arts, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
