  • The Department of Social Work seeks a non tenure track full-time faculty member to teach within its BSW degree completion program at the Rowan College South Jersey (RCSJ) at the Cumberland Campus (or other campus as designated). The candidate should enjoy teaching above all other aspects of academia and must bring creative pedagogy to the classroom. He or she will be asked to teach courses across the Social Work curriculum. This is a non-tenure track position in Social Work beginning Fall 2021.

    Responsibilities:

  • Teach 12 credits per semester
  • Oversee Field Liaisons and support community partnerships
  • Teach in lecture, online, or hybrid modalities as assigned.
  • Teach at Cumberland campus, off site locations or in evening as assigned
  • Coordinate field activities at the RCSJ location
  • Maintain an active interest and involvement in the local community
  • Participate in departmental functions, including course and program assessment.
  • Participate in accreditation activities and willingness to make curricular changes where necessary.
  • Engage with department and university as required for job functions, i.e. Department Meetings, Faculty Meetings, GCU Admissions events, etc.
  • Advise and mentor students, including their research and internships
  • Engage in university wide service
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Occasional travel to the GCU campus in Lakewood, NJ


Requirements:

  • Master of Social Work required; D.S.W. or Ph.D. preferred. ABD will be considered.
  • LSW required; LCSW preferred
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence at the college level required.
  • Practice experience in social work required
  • Ability to teach across the social work curriculum, previous experience preferred.
  • Ability or willingness to learn to use instructional technologies effectively is essential.
  • Commitment to active, learner centered teaching.
  • Experience assessing learning outcomes in courses and programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively
