The Department of Nursing seeks per diem clinical lab
instructors to support an expanding nursing major. The candidates
should enjoy teaching above all other aspects of academia and must
bring creative pedagogy to the laboratory setting. He or she will
support student learning in the nursing skills lab and provide
remediation for nursing students across the curriculum.
This is a per diem, non tenure-track position in the Georgian
Court-Hackensack Meridian Health School of Nursing beginning Summer
Integrate the Mercy core values of respect, integrity,
compassion, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
Support clinical laboratory undergraduate courses/sections as
needed in a BSN and ABSN program including summer courses as
Support clinical simulations in the simulation lab
Attend clinical skills/simulation lab meetings
Regularly participate in course assessment and program
assessment and be willing to make improvements in
Teach at the Lakewood campus, off site and clinical lab
Collaborate with colleagues in on-going off site teaching
Participate in campus and off site clinical learning laboratory
Investigate and recommend new technology to the nursing faculty
to enhance the learning environment for students
Communicate with faculty, lab coordinator and clinical
instructors on the required skills and competencies required of
students in a changing health care environment.
Master’s Degree in Nursing recommended; Licensed or eligible
for licensure as a RN in New Jersey.
Knowledge and experience in teaching in the learning/simulation
Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence in the clinical
setting ln nursing is preferred.
Ability or willingness to learn to use instructional technologies
effectively is essential;
Commitment to active, learner centered teaching.
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with students and
Strong clinical nursing skillset and recent clinical experience
