Preferred qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals who possess:

• Experience with supporting the following areas: Campus Solutions: Enrollment Services and Instructional Services

• PeopleSoft functional experience in any of the areas above.

• Experience with PS Query Tool and/or SQL .

• Experience developing, coordinating, and performing testing activities.

• Experience troubleshooting major production problems or system errors.

• Experience writing functional requirements into technical requirements.

• Experience in development and implementation of new technology.

• Well-developed communication and training documentation skills.

• Experience with projects and/or team environment.

Work Hours

Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.

Compensation $52,472- $62,966 annual. A competitive benefit package is included. Special Instructions to Applicants

Class Summary

This is the first level in the Business System series. Incumbents configure, set-up, test, and document various modules of PeopleSoft system for assigned functional areas, analyze and implement technological solutions to improve business processes, and provide trainings and support to end users. Major duties and responsibilities include: developing, coordinating, and conducting testing for software functions; troubleshooting software problems; researching and analyzing new software, current and new business processes to improve performance and data quality; communicating and training users on new system processes; and preparing related reports.

Typical Essential Duties

• Coordinates, and performs software testing; enters/extracts information into/from and maintains software systems; designs and updates queries; Assists with implementations of software modifications; tests business process improvement after changes to software systems and applications have been implemented; and ensures system integrity.
• Researches and analyzes new software systems and technologies, as well as current and new business processes to improve performance, data quality, and ensure operational efficiency.

• Communicates with and provides general and functional support and training to end users on new system and other business processes; work may involve answering questions; and diagnosing and troubleshooting software problems, to include analyzing data requirements, researching data availability, implementing access methods; and assisting with development and implementing solutions utilizing alternative methods and procedures.

• Prepares, updates, and maintains general and functional reports and records; product, process, and training documentation; process calendars; and other documentation and materials; work may involve utilizing online systems and databases; researching, compiling, and analyzing complex information; and making and implementing recommendations based on findings.

• Serves as a liaison and coordinates with end users, staff, the IT department, and other internal and external personnel, departments, and agencies to troubleshoot issues, communicate general and technical information, and facilitate assigned and other departmental operations.

Knowledge

• Working knowledge of using existing, revising, or creating new queries using PS Query tool or SQL ;

• Knowledge of principles, practices, protocols and methods of institutional computing applications;

• Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of facilitating process analysis;

• Knowledge of methods and techniques of collecting, analyzing and interpreting business processes;

• Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of business process reengineering;

• Knowledge of principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis;

• Knowledge of best practices, trends and emerging technologies;

• Knowledge of principles and methods of qualitative and quantitative research;

• Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations (based on assignment);

• Knowledge of customer service principles;

• Knowledge of modern office technology;

Positions Supervised Physical Requirements

The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

• Grasping – applying pressure to object with fingers, palm.

• Hearing – perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, receive information.

• Fingering – picking, pinching, typing, working with fingers rather than hand.

• Reaching – extending hands or arms in any direction.

• Repetitive Motion – substantial movements of wrists, hands, fingers

• Talking – expressing ideas by spoken word.

• Walking – on foot to accomplish tasks, long distances, or site to site.
