Under the direction of the Title III Grant Project Director and A VP for Academic Affairs, the Data Retention Specialist coordinates, data collection, compilation, analysis, report writing, dashboard creation and data/dashboard maintenance. In addition, the Retention Data Specialist will help develop, coordinate, and facilitate activities and programs in conjunction with instructional and student services units that will help ensure the retention and success of students in the Women's College. The Retention Data Specialist will also help evaluate policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the Title III Grant Project and the University retention plan. The position requires collaboration with the A VP for Academic Affairs, key staff in Institutional Research, Information Technology, various student supports units and a working knowledge of Educational Advisory Board (EAB) Navigate tools and student information systems. Highly developed verbal, statistical, and technical skills are required to aggregate, comprehend and develop analytical approaches to making sense of data.

Qualifications:

Knowledge: Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred with extensive statistical background and modelling experience.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience with student retention practices. Demonstrated experience working with students in higher education setting. Experience with EAB Navigate and other student information systems a plus. 

Skills/ Aptitude: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts and ideas to individuals and groups. Knowledge of student retention strategies. Skill in operating various statistical software packages, student information software, database management, dashboard updates and data analytics.  Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment with regular interruptions and multiple competing demands.  Excellent time management skills.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some overtime may be required. This is a grant-supported position subject to the continued availability of funding throughout the project period
