Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing oversight and coordination for all workforce programs that provide skills-based training (credit and non-credit) for non-traditional students. In addition, the AVP will provide oversight for the development of Lifelong Learning programming for the community. The Associate Vice President works within the Center for Workforce Development and across the college to ensure high-quality programs and support services. This includes, but is not limited to, staff management, program development, program review and evaluation, strategic planning, management of the course schedule, and restricted/unrestricted budget management for all programs and service assigned to the division.

Supervision Received: This position reports to the Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs or designee.

Supervision Exercised: This position is responsible for the supervision of all workforce staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of workforce programs that are consistent with the mission of the college and that meet the needs of the business community and students.

Develop and evaluate bridge programs that support a seamless career pathway for non-traditional students.

Coordinate prior learning assessments as appropriate to the career pathway with the Office of the Registrar and Division of Academic & Student Affairs.

Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of lifelong learning workshops and programming for all ages and abilities.

Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of workforce training grants in coordination with the Office of Grant Development, Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Business Office.

Ensure that programs and curricula align with requirements of state and federal regulating agencies and external accrediting organizations.

Lead the process of program accreditation and preparation of self-study reports, and site visits.

Participate in community activities, including advisory boards, to ensure relevance of curricula.

Represent RCC to business and industry partners, community-based organizations, state and local agencies.

Maintain an ongoing divisional educational plan containing annual goals and objectives to meet instructional needs.

Ensure implementation of all provisions of collective bargaining agreements for all staff in the division.

Manage restricted and unrestricted budgets in compliance with Board policies and state and federal law.

Represent divisional concerns and needs to the Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs.

Engage in professional development to maintain and develop areas of professional expertise.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Three years of progressively responsible positions in higher education, or its equivalent in managing non-traditional training programs.

Demonstrated ability to build teams of diverse participants.

Commitment to the mission of Roxbury Community College and the principles of shared governance.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Excellent time management, organizational, and computer software skills.

Evening and weekend availability.

Preferred Qualifcations:

Earned doctorate from a regionally-accredited college or university.

Teaching or administration in an urban community college.

Experience managing in a collective bargaining environment.

Experience with online learning and emerging educational technologies.


Additional Information:

This is a full-time Non-Unit Professional (NUP) position, with full benefits.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
