Job Description:

The Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA) is the Chief Academic Officer for the college and responsible for all academic programs, faculty, and staff for both credit and non-credit programs. The Vice President oversees all academic policies and operations.

Supervision Received: Reports to the Executive Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness, Academic and Student Affairs.

Direct Supervision Given:

Associate Vice President, Workforce

Dean, Arts and Humanities

Dean, STEM

Director, Library

Essential Functions:

Provide leadership to achieve the academic mission of Roxbury Community College.

Develop, implement and evaluate all programs and service in the division.

Create, manage, and approve all budgets, grants, expenditures.

Supervise and administer evaluations of faculty and staff.

Work with marketing to create the college catalog, student handbook and college promotional materials.

Create in collaboration with the faculty, the college academic calendar.

Ensure college compliance with all accreditation and regulatory agencies.

Manage the hiring process for faculty and staff.

Work with local business to create academic programs that match projected industry needs for employees.

Ensure that programs and services are in place to assist all students to be academically successful.

Collaborate with Student Life to increase student engagement and that support instruction.


Requirements:

Knowledge Required:

The Vice President of Academic Affairs must have knowledge and experience in:

Student Learning Outcomes (SLO); co-requisite remediation; distance education and other educational strategies that promote student success and instructional flexibility;

Computer management systems for students records, retention, and budget administration;

State and federal regulations; and

Accreditation for the institution and academic programs.

Job Requirements:

Master's Degree required; Doctorate preferred from a regionally accredited institutional of higher education.

A minimum of three years experience in higher education administration.

Teaching experience in a higher education institution

Successful experience in grant securement and management.

Excellent time management and communication skills.

Exceptional communications skills/Proven ability to communicate effective with a diverse range of constituencies

Ability to manage multiple projects independently.


Additional Information:

This is a full-time Non-Unit Professional (NUP) position, with full benefits.

All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
