A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking an IT Support Technician on the Kirksville, Missouri, campus. The position reports to the Manager, IT Support Services. The IT Support Technician will facilitate or provide technical assistance to ATSU’s technology users.

Major Job Duties

  • Act as level 1 response to University computing problems/needs or determine need for escalation of service
  • Provide technical support to the end-user
  • Provide necessary installation and troubleshooting of computers, computer software, and peripherals
  • Assist with the University’s computer training program
  • Assist with record keeping pertaining to the University’s computer environment
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Responsibilities

  • Answer and respond to help desk service calls
  • Respond to computer related problems/questions immediately or by work order assignment
  • Install and repair computers and peripherals
  • Assist with the University’s computer training program
  • Maintain computer repair/service records


Requirements

  • The person in this position must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft products, he/she must know basic computer software and hardware functions and their relationships.
  • The person in this position should have a skill set to include a broad-range of computer and software knowledge, plus he/she must have logical reasoning and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals.
  • The person in this position must be a strong communicator who is able to impart a composed attitude to the ATSU computing community. He/She must be able to prioritize time and work well with multiple personalities, age groups, and skill sets.
  • As first contact concerning computer problems/repairs this person is a key individual in computing services who will set the tone for the end-user’s call for assistance. He/She must be professional, calm, and helpful.
