Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Athletics Operations

Denison is seeking a Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Athletics Operations to serve on the Athletics Leadership Executive Team. This person will directly manage daily compliance operations of the athletic compliance office to ensure strict adherence with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations for amateurism, eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, awards and benefits, playing and practice season, enforcement and leadership development/career exploration development. Create compliance monitoring mechanisms that support all athletic programs and student-athletes. Provide rule interpretations and coordinated educational programs for coaches, staff, S-As, faculty, and alumni. Release weekly eligibility reports. Prepare or coordinate preparations of all NCAA institutional reports. Serve as the Athletics Compliance Office liaison to various campus constituents including, but not limited to: General Counsel, Financial Aid, Enrollment, and others. Serve as the official representative of the university at NCAA, conference, and institutional meetings. Oversees budget management, including balancing, purchasing, and clearing purchases. Executes a zero-based budgeting approach each Fall. Collaborates in writing a long-range, strategic facilities budget plan pertaining to deferred maintenance and major equipment needs.

Minimum requirements include: Master’s Degree. Two years or more of work experience with an NCAA institution or within the NCAA National Office. Experience investigating and processing violations of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong working knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations. Proficient analytical skills to identify and assess facts and determine outcomes using concrete data. The ability to present clear and accurate information when conducting training. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of constituents. Experience working with zero-based budgeting. Exceptional organizational skills to effectively prioritize and achieve deadlines on major projects.
