The Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University (http://www.binghamton.edu/biology/ ) invites applications for a Lecturer to teach Microbiology lecture and laboratory for pre-health students and other courses that contribute to the biology curriculum. The instructor is also expected to assist with the preparation of materials for the microbiology laboratory courses. Candidates with prior teaching experiences, especially those using innovative instructional methods and classroom technologies with large enrollment courses, will be given preference. Candidate should be comfortable in a student-centered environment and committed to the college mission. Candidates must have a PhD in Microbiology or related field.  

Initial appointment is for three years, beginning September 1, 2021, with the possibility of renewal.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree required
  • Prior work experience at the college level
  • Training in microbiology
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting in teaching laboratory courses
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working with a diverse group of people
