Marist College is seeking applications for the position of Admission Counselor in the department of Undergraduate Enrollment.

 

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for speaking to prospective students and their families about Marist through in-person and virtual high school visits, college fairs, information sessions and campus visits. Conduct freshman application readings, serve as liaison for an Athletic team(s) and coordinate donation requests.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of appropriate work experience.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Independently manage geographic territory by analyzing multiple data sources to develop and create an extensive travel, recruitment, communication and outreach plan to drive new student enrollment in support of the strategic goals of the college.
  • Review and make admission decisions on traditional undergraduate applications to Marist. Thoroughly evaluate student credentials and personal qualities. Serve as a member of the Admission and Scholarship Committee which renders final admission and merit award decisions for all applicants.
  • Conduct information sessions and college fairs/nights, meeting with prospective students and their families. Prepare and revise presentations as needed to ensure appropriate information for audience (e.g., general, specific academic area, honors program)
  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails that come through the Marist Admission Office from prospective students and their families. Provide guidance to students, parents, and school counselors.
  • Serve as liaison to an Athletic team(s) to determine the admissibility of student athletes and level of potential scholarship award.
  • Manage donation requests to community organizations.
