Job Summary
Provides varied and high-level administrative and technical support to an academic-related department/unit, with significant emphasis on more complex administrative responsibilities.
Essential Functions
A valuable source of information for students, faculty, coworkers, and department chair, and act as a liaison to other departments on behalf of the department chair and office manager. In the process of searching for solutions to problems, they will make use of a network of relationships across campus with facilities, grad school, payroll, parking services, and other administrators within the college.
Maintain share folder for key/card access. Prepare master list for grad student financial offers and award statements for international students. Update department info on annual space survey. Assign and track grad student office space.
Assist with all payrolls and new hire processing. Work with Graduate Program Officer to process grad student applications in the AY system for department.
Clerical duties to include mail distribution and outgoing packages. Prepare new hire forms. Keep office supplies stocked. Maintain and troubleshoot copier. Submit facility work orders for the department. Answer department phone and greet visitors. Reserve conference rooms. Participate in cross- training within the department for various tasks to help with heavy workloads.
