Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Assessment Coordinator in the administration of a variety of paper-based and computer-based testing programs and perform required clerical duties.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Performs secretarial/clerical duties such as typing, word processing, and maintaining records.
  2. Assist in preparing materials needed for test administration.
  3. Maintains a variety of confidential records and files.
  4. Assist in test administration.
  5. Performs receptionist duties.
  6. Handles trouble-shooting issues that may arise during computer-based test sessions.
  7. Communicates effectively with the public and other departments within the college.
  8. Performs duties of a GED Examiner as required, including assisting GED examinees with registering for exams using a PC.


Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses/Skills

Required:
  • Associates Degree
  • The Assessment Center administers exams through Pearson Vue and Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) to name a few and all proctors must be certified when hired.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Articulate in English and Spanish
  • Basic knowledge of computers, networks, web-based software, office software, as well as knowledge of standard office procedures.
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends, and evenings during certain periods throughout the year.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Work-inside a well-lighted and air-conditioned area most of the time.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
