The OPT for Health lab (PI: Dr. Jessica LaRose) in the Department of Health Behavior and Policy is seeking an adjunct faculty member to contribute to ongoing and future research trials on the behavioral treatment of obesity and related chronic diseases. Ongoing studies examine drivers of heterogeneity in treatment response among young women within the context of a lifestyle intervention, novel approaches to obesity treatment among emerging adults, and digital approaches to lifestyle management for adults living with type 2 diabetes. Responsibilities will include preparation and submission of collaborative grant proposals and manuscripts, supervision of interventionists on research protocols, and assisting the PI with developing and maintaining trial manuals of procedure. Opportunities for professional development are also available to assist the faculty member in building their own independent program of research. This position is for a 1-year contract with potential for extension contingent upon grant funding and performance.

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience working in an academic medical environment
- Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications
- Evidence of previous grant submissions and / or funding as PI or Co-I
- Exceptional analytical thinking skills
- Outstanding academic writing skills
- Supervisory and / or mentoring experience
- PhD in clinical psychology or closely related field, with a specialization in behavioral medicine
- Experience working collaboratively in a diverse team setting
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Licensed clinical psychologist
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral weight management
- Experience training and supervising therapists and / or interventionists as part of a research protocol
- Knowledge of Federal and state regulations and ethical guidelines related to human subjects research in a biomedical setting
