The Department of Behavioral Science is seeking two (2) organized and efficient candidates. Under general supervision, the administrative support performs advanced and confidential administrative support duties, including composing routine correspondence, meeting minutes, financials, and obtaining factual information requiring knowledge of policies/procedures of both assigned and work related areas. Assists with the hiring of faculty, staff, and part-time employees. Manages, oversees, and keeps record of budget expenditures. Directs student traffic and phone calls. Maintains department spreadsheets and enters data frequently. Assists with scheduling the Department Chair. Makes travel arrangements for faculty candidate interviews as well as assist with student travel. Informs students, faculty, and public of available department and university services. Provides correct and accurate information to inquiries and requests for assistance. Coordinates book orders, requisitions, and purchase orders and maintains inventory of office equipment and supplies.

Required Qualifications:
The department is seeking an admin support level II and an admin support level III.

Admin support II: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and one year of experience or any combination of education and experience related to the summary of duties totaling three years.

Admin support III:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of office methods, techniques, practices and procedures, computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and databases. Knowledge of best practices in events, correspondence, and appropriate matters of etiquette in various settings.
  • Knowledge of University policy and procedures. Knowledge of budget spending and reconciling.
  • Skill in office methods, techniques, practices and procedures.
  • Skill in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, and presentations.
  • Skill in record management.
  • Skills in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and phone skills.
  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet and interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently on a multi-task level, prioritize and follow projects through to successful competition.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
    vAbility to plan and anticipate potential changes and act accordingly.
  • Ability to enact strategic changes affecting multiple stakeholders, including high-level university leadership.

Physical Requirements:
Work performed in a standard office environment. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking; continuous ability to see, hear, and speak; able to lift up to 10 pounds; frequent fine hand manipulation associated with the use of a computer.

Pay Range: $23,565 - $34,490 DOE
