The Academic Computing Department at Pratt Institute is seeking an organized, detail-orientated, tech-savvy Technology Desk Support Specialist who will provide initial client contact and first-level technical support. Under moderate day to day supervision, with a moderate degree of independent judgment and discretion, provides technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, hardware and networking support as required by the Technology Desk. If you can deliver high-quality customer service, have the ability to understand various computer operating systems, and want to be a part of a department whose purpose is providing excellent customer and technical support, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Essential Duties include the following:

• Respond to phone, voice messages, walk-in, and email support requests in a timely and professional manner
• Perform level 1 troubleshooting to identify causes and recommend solutions to users - including use of remote access, management tools, and more
• Create, respond to, and update service requests
• Assist in the printing and troubleshooting of Pratt ID cards
• Provide incident/ticket routing and escalations to other IT departments within the school
• Assist in creating written/verbal instruction guides for users, as well as updating the Knowledge Base
• Assist in basic maintenance of in-warranty PC and Mac hardware
• Follow up with customers to ensure issues are resolved
