Coordinator - Training Resources

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
Schedule and coordinate yearly career ladder courses which includes, planning, coordinating instructor schedules, preparing and distributing course materials. Oversee CDA program and cohorts. Answer agency phone calls and consult with programs and individuals regarding their professional development. Attends various meetings. Attends community and educational events. Provides back up to Data and Resource Counselor.

Required Qualifications:
Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood or a related field from an accredited institution. Paid professional experience working in the field of early childhood. Experience teaching adult learners. Knowledge of requirement for a Child Development Associate credential (CDA).


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of early childhood best practices.
  • Working knowledge of the Utah Professional Development System and the national CDA credentialing system.
  • General knowledge of Office of Child Care and Care about Childcare.
  • General information of early childhood education professional development possibilities.
  • Computer skills such as email, excel, word, and UVU TIMS, and 25 Live.
  • Organizational and scheduling skills that include, scheduling instructors and courses needed for the professionals in our service area.
  • Professional phone and writing skills
  • Organizational skills.
  • Customer service skills that require the ability to diffuse and calm disgruntled customers.
  • Ability to organize and prepare new curriculum and to update current curriculum.
  • Ability to plan and assist the instructors in their professional development.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends


Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or a related field. Paid professional experience working in a licensed child care program. Held a current CDA within the last 5 years. Fluent in both speaking and writing in Spanish.


Physical Requirements:
General office environment with frequent walking and standing and light lifting.
