Deputy Title IX Coordinator

Pratt Institute

The Campus Safety & Preparedness Division at Pratt Institute is seeking a Deputy Title IX Coordinator who can assist and coordinate investigating potential policy violations (which include but are not limited to bias discrimination, sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and human rights violations) and who can assist other community members in building greater awareness through training and educational initiatives. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to Pratt's equity system through Pratt's Title IX Council, special projects (as needed), institution-wide communication efforts, and ensuring Pratt's policies and procedures reflect best practices by adhering to federal and state civil rights regulations (such as Title IX and the Campus SaVE Act).

If you can demonstrate the ability to successfully assist in conducting effective trainings and investigations, have in-depth knowledge and experience in the investigation, grievance resolution and appeal process, can thrive in a busy and complex work environment, balancing multiple projects, and have knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to Title IX, VAWA, FERPA, and the Clery Act, then we want to hear from you!

Key Essential Duties include the following:
  • Assists Title IX Coordinator in the administration of the overall equity system by serving on the Title IX Investigators Council
  • Serve on related committees such as the Assessment and Care Team (ACT) and working groups to advise and monitor impacts related to equity and response work on campus
  • Assist with the review, assessment, and investigation of bias related & discrimination matters. Create and maintain published materials and website content related to community standards, equity, and response
  • Provide support and leadership for other investigators and adjudicators on training, education, and planning of all members of the equity team
  • Manages hearings including all witness scheduling and coordination
  • Assists in the development and implementation of ongoing campus-wide climate surveys
  • Assess campus data on equity issues to support a responsive approach to prevention and education, campus resources and services, including the development of a prevention and education strategy for continued education, dialogue and practice
  • Provide assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors regarding Pratt's Sexual Misconduct Policy and Process, including case intake, answering questions on the rights of parties involved in a report or complaint, resource referrals, and procedural questions
