Graduate School Research & Scholarship: Assistant to the Dean & Manager of Graduate Student Services to assist graduate students in all aspects of time at Miami. Assist the Dean of the Graduate School with a particular emphasis on managing budget/processing awards. Process graduate students' theses and dissertations and prepare them for graduation including planning and implementing Doctoral Hooding ceremonies (December, May and August).

Duties include are not limited to: Process graduate students’ theses and dissertations; assist graduate students in person, on phone, and email; handling especially sensitive and complex student issues in a professional and discrete manner; provide counsel to students on a full range of policies and procedures for graduate students; monitor academic progress; timely and accurate graduation clearance of all students; collaborate with the Registrar and Commencement Offices regarding commencement issues; responsible for graduate student orientation and commencement planning; identify, recommend, and implement improvement of graduate student services; process awards and scholarships for graduate students; serve as the advisor of the Graduate Student Association; Assist with day-to-day operations of the Graduate School; manage the Dean’s and Associate Dean’s calendars; enforce policies of the Graduate School, including recommending new policies and procedures as needed; manage Graduate School email accounts, social media accounts; reconcile P-cards, Master card statement and requisitions; manage paperwork and minute taking for Graduate Council; manage Graduate School budgets.

Required: Requires nine months of coursework or training beyond high school in Business Administration and three years of related office management experience.  Experience can be gained during the course of receiving education. Position not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

Consideration may be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree, strong ability in problem identification and reasoning; superb interpersonal skills and desire to help students; thorough and effective verbal and written communication skills, budgeting and requisition software (BannerWeb, BI Oracle, ChromeRiver, Buyway), website (Cascade CMS, Formstack, Pxlr ER, PhotoShelter), communications (EMMA, Slate 2.0), and personnel (PageUp).
