The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, exempt staff, 10-month position, with primary sport assignment of Volleyball and Swim/Dive. The assistant athletic trainer will serve as one of nine full-time athletic trainers employed by the University of Indianapolis, under the direction of physicians from Community Health Network.

As a part of the application, applicants will be asked to upload a cover letter, resume, and an unofficial transcript from institution where athletic training degree/certification was obtained.


  • Prepare and submit secondary insurance claims for athletic injuries
  • Facilitate communication between team physicians, professional staff, coaches, student athletes, parents and administrators
  • Coordinate student athlete appointments with team physicians and physical therapists
  • Maintain a high morale among athletic training staff, athletic training students, student athletes, coaches and administrators
  • Maintain a high level of quality documentation within an electronic medical records system


  • This position requires a clean or acceptable driving record
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • At least one to two years of experience as a certified athletic trainer is required
  • Collegiate experience preferred
  • BOC Athletic Training Certification required
  • Indiana State Licensure (or eligible) required
  • CPR/AED Certification required
