Job Description:

The Assistant Vice President for Finance, a full-time exempt position, serves as the head of the Business Affairs Office. This position is responsible for supervising the financial and accounting functions of the College, including internal and external financial reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with College financial and accounting policies and procedures as they apply to colleges and universities, and creating and maintaining effective internal controls.

The Assistant Vice President for Finance directly supervises the Director of Accounting, Financial Services Administrator, Director of the Business Office, and thus, has final oversight for all areas of the department including financial reporting, treasury, student accounts management, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. This position guides all hiring, training, and supervision of the Business Affairs Office team. There must be emphasis on accuracy, audit trails, and efficiency, along with teamwork, good communication and achieving departmental and College goals while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of related work experience, including management experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting/financial management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • CPA certification or inactive status preferred.
  • Master's degree in accounting, financial management, or related field, preferred.
  • Experience in Higher education, preferred.
