Term Faculty in the Writing Studies Program

The Department of Literature in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for three term faculty positions for Academic Year 2021-2022. Rank will be dependent on degree, experience and stature in the field. The appointments are 9-month term positions and will commence on August 30, 2021.

The position will require the incumbent to teach three courses per semester (fall and spring), primarily (but not limited to) first-year academic writing (College Writing). All faculty are expected to hold regular office hours and participate in department and university activities and service.

Salary is competitive.

Applicants should hold a graduate degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Creative Writing, or a related field.
