Purpose of Position

The College of Health and Human Services is seeking applications for two full-time 12 month non-tenure track faculty positions in the Department of Nursing for the online RN- BSN program. (nursing.nku.edu)

These positions reports to the Associated School Director/School of Nursing Director.
The search will remain open until the position is filled.
These positions will begin Summer 2021/Fall 2021.

Primary Responsibilities

The School of Nursing invites applications for two full-time non-tenure track renewable faculty positions at the lecturer level. Faculty responsibilities will include teaching in the online RN- BSN program and service to the program, college and University. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in the 7-week online courses during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters of the academic year. These positions do not require relocation to Kentucky.

All faculty must be prepared to plan and teach courses within their area of expertise. This includes developing (or using provided syllabus) for the classes assigned.

Specific duties include:
1. Plan, teach, manage, and evaluate lectures or activities within the course.
2. Assure instructional excellence and innovation in course presentation.
3. Remain current in the discipline through attendance at professional continuing education seminars.
4. Serve on committees as assigned and attend faculty, departmental, and other meetings in person or virtually as necessary.
5. Maintain office hours in person or virtually, and to be accessible and available to students and staff.
6. Review textbooks in the discipline and place textbook orders according to the University schedule.
7. Maintain grades and submit final grades through My NKU by the University deadlines.
8. Work cooperatively with the faculty team including adjunct faculty, clinical coordinators, and academic coaches.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MSN degree required. Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Two years of experience in clinical practice within the past five years required.

Previous academic teaching experience in the online format preferred.

Must possess a valid unencumbered nursing license.
