Job Description:

The Budget Office at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Budget Assistant. Reporting to the Budget Director, expectations include serving in various functions including budget development, control, execution, analysis, monitoring, and reporting, as well as assisting with technology development within the Office.

Duties include but not limited to: management of temporary service funds and supporting documentation, fund level monitoring and reporting, financial data entry, expense and disbursement tracking and reporting, assisting senior level staff, performing routine monthly reconciliation and analysis for internal and external purposes, assisting in the planning and preparation of departmental and/or divisional budgets, and responding to various departmental and other inquiries and requests in a timely manner.


Requirements:

Required qualifications: bachelor's degree; minimum of 2 years of experience in financial administration; experience with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred: experience in financial administration in SUNY, NYS agency, higher education setting, or other public/non-profit agency or institution; demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills; excellent communication skills; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
