Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2022 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

About the Position:
Information Technology continuously strives to produce a higher quality of services designed to meet the expectations of the campus community. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Documentation and Training Specialist (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the direction of the Lead IT Documentation and Training Specialist, the Documentation and Training Specialist designs and develops training courses and materials through the analysis of learning needs and objectives, and the development of appropriate technology-based and/or distributed delivery systems to meet those needs. Creates documentation and assists in maintaining a documentation repository to provide written information regarding established methodologies for accomplishing information processing within defined areas of campus operations. Proactively addresses customer's needs through analyzing their operational needs and constraints and working with Information Technology staff to develop effective methodologies, solutions, and enhancements. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.

Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to develop and deliver web-based documentation and training courses including computer-based training. Experience with documentation repositories, web documentation and assistance tools, ticketing and escalation software, and web content delivery are preferred.
