South Dakota State University (SDSU) College of Nursing is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Director of Nursing Student Services. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to lead our Nursing Student Services Department. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Dean of Nursing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Nursing Student Services coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Nursing Student Services Department and manages the activities of the College of Nursing in the areas of recruitment, marketing, retention, advising, and other nursing student services such as database support and development, computer support services, program evaluation input, and both events and ceremonies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Human Resources or Student Services related fields completed by date of application;
  • At least three years of higher education recruitment, marketing, advising, and student database experience;
  • If the applicant is an RN, the applicant must be licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or eligible for licensure;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work as a contributing team member;
  • Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs;
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials and direct effective programs.
  • Valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Human Resources, Leadership, or Student Services related fields;
  • Certification in a student or human services related field;
  • At least five years of higher education recruitment, marketing, advising, and student database experience;
  • Experience in supervision of processional staff;
  • Leadership in the planning and implementation of events and ceremonies.
